Theist When you watch a entertainment magic show I am fairly sure you know that it is NOT real The MAGIC is the ability of the entertainer to seemingly defy the laws of physics, while you are watching, AND YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW THEY DO SO That is MAGIC and, repeating, you don't know how it is done but you DO know it is not real So don't you find it strange that you BELIEVE magic, WHICH YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN, but which you say your god performs? Performance magic = seen - don't know how he did it - but it is fake god magic = not seen - don't know how he did it - but it is real Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Michael: You might be surprised, but there are people out there who think that some stage magic is actually real. The assumption appears to be that if they can't think how it could be done, it must be real magic. I think this is actually more common when the illusionist is performing "mental magic", rather than magic with physical objects. There are people who will insist that the performer could not possibly have done a "mind reading" trick without using real magic. Even when the performer tells them it is trickery (without saying exactly how it is done), they will still insist that the performer has real psychic powers (or whatever), but that the performer maybe doesn't realise that him/herself. People will go to great lengths to preserve a belief system.

Oh for a time machine to go back with a few magic performers to the time of JC and give the local con artist a run for their money Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
fyi, i dont think JC was a con artist. i think the con artists came after him and simply used him like one might use ghandi to deify someone to then subvert conformity to give power to an individual. look at hitler used socialism(and sold it wholesale) to gain fascist control look at Stalin, used communism to validate fascism etc etc ... i believe in magic Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! maybe the preceding question should be "does magic defy the unknown laws of physics?" i define magic as being unknown i define defying the laws of physics as something else i define defying unknown laws as being theory magic & theory are equal neither have scientific fact to define them
Tricky Because we don't know what we don't know, which would include the unknown laws of physics, we don't know if any magic defies any unknown law If we do find a previous unknown law of physics by definition it becomes a known law of physics If we have had something, which has previously been nominated as magic because it defied the then know laws, we now have, a new law, which we can make a check against I would ask, Did this new law come from re-evaluating the magic? or come from other research?
