Damn! This sort of problem can usually be fixed by just reloading the page. The problem is that the database server we're using is an overworked piece of junk, so occasionally it responds slowly or not at all. I'm currently investigating faster (and more expensive Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! ) alternatives.
OK... I just switched the database server. We're now running on a brand-spanking new database server, so hopefully things will improve. You should see a general increase in performance on the main ExoScience pages. (you shouldn't see any noticeable improvement with the message board, as the forum isn't running on the database server).
