<i>"For the love of God, please no conspiracy theory forum."</i>

Your objections are somewhat suspect, Curly. Hmm... <img src = "http://www.sciforums.com/t4341/s881bb904d90a57031cac8f2992c9909e/images/icons/icon10.gif">

Please if there is a conspiracy theory forum, which is a vague subject to begin with, it should be under "Pseudoscience".

There *was* a conspiracy forum at one point, but it was folded in with Pseudoscience. I have no intention of bringing it back.

I would definitely go along with Suggestions for a Psychology Forum, as there have been many topics where the Psychological aspects of reasoning have come into coversation.

For instance the psychology behind a re-occuring dream.

(Not to forget to mention the many thousands of Psychology students with no forum to roam as their own)

What about a Forum on Parapsychology?

Perhapps we can have a good discussion then without so many 'trolls' in it?

I will moderate it if you need one...

I suppose you could merge the Psychology and Parasychology ones together as a single topic (Possibly with Criminal Psychology and behaviourist psychology) etc.

    Good idea Stryder.

Chagur, sorry to say so, but you really miss the point here.

There is a good reason for wanting to have a Forum only and alone for Parapsychology.

And I disagree that it belongs in Pseudoscience.

Why should it be in Pseudoscience? Not important or scientifical enough?

There are a lot of members thinking about Parapsychology as a real existing matter and it is important to all of them.

So I think the time has come to open a Forum for them and for me.

There is more interest in Parapsychology then you think, believe me.

    And it is NOT Pseudoscience...

I'm not entirely certain what parapsychology is all about and why it doesn't fall under 'pseudoscience' -- remember 'pseudoscience' doesn't imply anything derogatory.

On another note, what about a "News" forum where members (and I) could post links etc. to news (hopefully of the more obscure variety and focused on science)? Sort of like the old exosci-site, but unmoderated, user-driven, and entirely informal.

    AGREE WITH STRYDER AND BANSHEE

I agree with Stryder on a PSYCHOLOGYforum, the topic is deep and intense enough for a separate one.
    bye!

Zion , Stryderunknown: That is right!
Well you know my stand on the issue (and the frustrations I sometimes feel concearning it).

And, I think I must stress this, parapsychology is in no relevant way related to psychology. Just like astrology is in no relevant way related to astronomy.

Imagine the reactions of the members if someone were to propose an 'Astronomy & Astrology' forum, or an 'Alchemy & Chemistry' forum.

How about a "Formal Sciences" forum? there we can talk about logic, maths and such. these are now a bit scattered across the forums.

I think we need a "Free Thoughts 2." The first one is very crouded and it is probably the most popular forum of all of the ones on this website, so I guess to ease the tension and not make so many new threads on a single forum another identical one could be created that would make it easier for your idea to be seen.

    Am I totally nuts?

shrike, you're not nuts. I've been considering the same thing. The question is how would you differentiate the two 'free thoughts' forums?

How about one being "Free thoughts" and the other being "General Discussion".
