Microsoft is ending the support for Internet Explorer 8, 9, and 10 on January 12th.
"End of Life" patch will ping the IE users asking them to upgrade their browsers and it will also mean that these older IE versions will no longer get regular technical support and security fixes. Internet Explorer 11 stays the last version that will be supported.

I guess it's a good news for web developers.

Great. I'm out of a job. Now EVERYONE will be able to build cross-browser compatible websites...

It's like when modern medicine came to villages and put witch doctors out of a job.
