Guys, how do I post a picture? I try, but it just makes a link to it. I'm doing this (without the spaces):

    [ I M G ] (Picture URL Here) [ / I M G ]

    What am I doing wrong?

Tiassa's at 9,999 at this moment. Something exceptionally brilliant for the 10k milestone would be appropriate. I also believe that a fixation on round figures is silly. So I'm off to bed, just like I did on the eve of Y2K. I hope the world doesn't actually end on this one. Rested, I think I'll read back in the archives, and take in more of what he's contributed over the years.

Hats Off to Tiassa, and :m: :m: :m: : Not just prolific, but also (truly) an exceptionally brilliant person.

Maybe T's head will explode trying to think of something significantly insightful for the official once-in-a-lifetime #10k. I suggest we all define him forever by his next post. Obviously, I don't think his head will really explode. I expect it is quite large by now, though.

    Anticlimax?

    :m:

It would be pointless, I think, to make a litany of thanking people, although much thanks must necessarily go out to our man Porfiry: Raise a pipe, folks. Smoke it if you got it.

No, don't seek control, and the Milk of Heaven will flow.
Why would you want to keep it from anyone?
    Please, please, on my knees,
My heart is on my sleeve.
And all I need is just one little taste of it.

And all my kingdoms rise when I'm dreaming.
    We lie on the grass,
Just soaking in the life of the land.
So high, God rest our souls.
All you cynical would not understand.

    As all your kingdoms fall,
And you hit the ground running,
Time will teach you to give in.

You know, I still believe most of the stuff I spout around here; I don't know whether or not that's unique. A nod at this point to Athelwulf, for digging up that early post. There are earlier posts, or at least one. Sciforums actually marks the period when I adopted the Tiassa as an online identity, as my prior one, embarrassingly, was falsely-founded; in all the time since I've never discovered the source of my error,

And that post highlights another error of mine:

It would be sarcastic, at least, to say, "Oh, if only I'd listened to myself! But no, I had to go and be open-minded."

(Lesson: Never call yourself open-minded. It works kind of like Betty White's philosophy about sex on Golden Girls.)

    Nonetheless ....

Of course, I live in a conflicting world. I am to write with a sense of absolute authority, yet my personal outlook refuses the establishment of anything definitive outside the relative. That old post contains one of the purest statements of my theology, only mildly stained by my affinity for the Craft.

So that phrase, "if this should ever be the case," is of the utmost. It is the qualifier, and I do mean the qualifier. Never fear, unless you are reassured, "I know what I'm doing. Trust me." You are never lost unless you are reassured, "We're not lost! I know exactly where we are."

Thus I am happy to admit that I generally have no idea what I'm doing. Were it any other way, I would be a mere falsehood.

Note: A Jesuit novice, given the sermon at Friday mass, once advised the assembled students that in any sermon, brevity was of some importance: the first six minutes are given to God; the second are obviously for the preacher himself; the third .... Well, you get the point. While I am generally known for not following that advice, the odd weight of expectation is driving far too pompous a post for even my tastes, and thus I should end the sermonizing here before I manage to piss off the lot of y'all.

Why don't you form a line,
    Form a line and swim?
    Oh, now form a line
    Form a line and swim.
Ah, you see me kickin' at a tin can,
Yeah, and I blame it on the sea.
You see I'll never know when, I'll never know why,
    I'm never gonna be you.
No I'm never gonna be you.

I don't get it. Tiassa sits around in a pot induced perma trance all day and produces nothing other than what he posts here. It is you the working class who literally pays him to do so.

    And you're congratulating him?

If I ever find myself in a similar position, you all have my permission to put a bullet in my head.

    Oy!
What did you do on your grannies birthday?
    Did you say;
"Hurry up and die you worthless old drain on society"
Or did you grit your teeth, kiss her cheek and give her that card with a picture of a kitten on it?

Develop some sense of occasion man!
With Pothed and Gendy banned I thought we might just get through this thread without any downers.

    Sheesh
There's always one at every party!
Go stand in the kitchen Q!
