It'll work in the demo, but not on the road.

Nope. All I know is I will never trust Volkswagen again after Emissionsgate.

What's quantumscape battery? If you want to discuss something, giving some context would be a good start.

I really do not know much about the company "quantumscape" , nor about the technology.
So far, I've seen tradeoffs in storage devices
eg: more power to weight, but fewer recharge cycles
    .................
I started reading about the subject when considering replacing my nicad battery operated tools with lithium ion ones
It seems that quantumscape is but one of many companies working on "the next generation" of energy storage devices...???
    ............................
I am just a consumer, relatively ignorant and always curious.

Not even enough to post a link?
How much homework have you done?

The links I found did not lead to much information as/re their product progress---a few links to patents did not yield the information which I sought.
It seems that they may be exploring developing a solid state battery------------do any reasonably priced, mass produced, solid state batteries exist?
    .............
feels like an invention/engineering thing well beyond my knowledge base
if invention-----what is likelihood of success?
