I wish to find out does isopropanol fully vaporize or does it leave a residue behind?

At what temperature does it vaporize?

Depends on the purity. For most purposes, the residue is minimal. Ethanol is safer, though.

I worked with 98% pure isopropanol in printing. It was in canada in a place the door got left open a lot and it would still evaporate and leave nothing(in fact some times take whatever ink was in it - as was it's purpose).

they do not sell pure ethanol, it's denatured.
the denaturing agent will no doubt leave a residue.

what will happen if i mix isopropanol with ammonia what will happen?

If I heat this mixture until all liquids is vaporized will any residue be left?

I have been informed that isopropanol will vaporize 100% leaving no residue is this true?

If residue is left, is it from the ammonia or isopropanol?

That's correct. The only residue left will be impurities from the manufacturing process.

Possibly an upset stomach, little more.

2ml isn't enough to hurt you if your over 3 years old.

Isopropanol - is here anyway it can be neutralized, made safe, non-poisionous.

Would heating it up to 120 degrees neutralize it.

This surely would vaporize the isopropanol and leave the impurities, if this is the case would the impurities be poisionous?

    Any other ideas are welcome

it ignites at 399 C degrees.
120 C will not neutralize it.

anyways you'll get Carbon monoxide released...so thats not good.

Won't the isopropanol reacte with the NH3, creating a propene and water?

You burst into flames. if you heat enough of it.

seriously though, the two mixed together makes a powerful solvent.
