Racism, is far less drastic today, than it was in the past. This is based on hard historical data. The question becomes, where is the current racism illusion coming from, which tries to create the illusion racism is worse than ever? Or who benefits by the illusion of enhanced racism?

Although off topic, there is parallel to this enhanced racism illusion; enhanced pollution illusion. For anyone older and/or aware of the past, you should should remember that pollution, like racism, was orders of magnitude worse in the past. Yet, the young people have been conditioned to believe this is the worse of times. Cars didn't always have pollution equipent and even burned lead gas. Now we worry about traces and call that the worse of times. Who benefits by this illusion that makes an effort not to allow historical perspective?

Are the same people at work in both cases?
