I noticed that registration gets disabled once in a while when we're trying to ban someone pr when bandwidth gets low (I have no clue what that has to do with anything, don't ask me).

But Porfiry is an alien bug that sits in the body of Dave Watanabe (sp?), and other posters are his multiple personalities; we all know that.

It's a common technique. Eject the dissidents, and stop registration until they forget about you. Otherwise, they come back.
