life is cheap in south east asia bribery is widespread and normal elderly are victims to the violent and they dont have the ability to earn money to pay bribes. they also require more medical treatment/medicines they also are a lot less active and dont play sports and get fat and die quickly quality of life in older age in countrys where life is not valued is of no consequence to south east asian countrys. it is a moral cost to culture in that country that is expendable like sending young men to die in war or selling children into the sex industry or selling children as domestic slaves or marrying children as brides. Europe is always thinking ahead. they don't breed like wild rabbits(religion contraception abortion medical care for young girls) they invest more health and education in their children they don't have a corrupt government system and corrupt society. they balance out work and wealth so everyone is better off giving more people more leisure time so they can have a better quality of life with more time for entertainment and arts and enjoyment while allowing more people to work. their crime rate is many times(exponentially) lower south east asia still has massive child slavery selling little girls as brides. what is an old woman in south east asia ? sexist xenophobic patriarchal child sex trafficking center of the world child slave labour child slavery ... who is forcing who to work ? why south east asian old woman sell children as sex slaves ?

In a way, yes. People live longer and stay stronger than they used to. Most don't feel ready for the pasture at 60 or 65, and they have more experience and skills than their younger colleagues, maybe more important, responsible and respected positions that they're not eager to give up. They probably entered the work-force later, too, because of higher education, so they have no more actual working years than Americans. As for why the governments don't rush them out, Europe has had a high standard of living for all classes through the Baby Boomers' working life, good nutrition, good health care, preventive and dental included, good work-place safety, generous vacation and sick leave. You could say they've been collecting benefits all along, and don't mind contributing as long as they're valued.
