Hmm. Wiki has this to say about this notion:

"According to an unconfirmed 19th-century source,[14][15] in the late 17th century the Vatican librarian Leo Allatius wrote an unpublished[16] treatise entitled De Praeputio Domini Nostri Jesu Christi Diatriba (A Discussion of the Foreskin of Our Lord Jesus Christ), claiming that the Holy Prepuce ascended, like Jesus himself, and was transformed into the rings of Saturn."

Funny, certainly. However it sounds to me as the whole thing was probably an invented silly story. (Which would fit a silly person such as Fry.)

    • Please do not post pseudoscience to our Science subforums.
Since this discussion now has allowed drifts into the medical religious world, allow me to plug some pseudo science. All the ring systems we know have a macro factor , and that is stability .(10199 Chariklo is in the stablest of Centaur orbits) what all the Gas giant ring systems have in common is, that they are in or very close to the areas of their planets, where Orbital velocity and rotational velocity cancel in the plane of rotation. see pages #7, 8 of
"Jupiter's Orbital Velocity & Equatorial Velocity cancel?" The Zero velocity Zones.
Correlation is not causation, but having a fourfold coincidence might be more than that.

The set up for a lot of planet related jokes was the naming of Uranus.

Astronomy threads are never really about astronomy for long, are they?
