Still at 220? Come on guys. And I don't mean the guys that already gave their excuses.... We should start a Free Thoughts thread about this. Come on, Porfiry. Will you PLEASE let us know about what kind of time we have? And also about the possibility of getting a P.O. Box or some such? Blue UK has already offered to take money from those who trust him. I also offer the same thing. I'm in the US. Blue's in the UK. Save the forums, motherfuckers.
Myself and one other (who's trans'ing me some money) will be donating shortly. Probably about a 100 dollars worth in total. Come on, get on palpay and keep the boat afloat!
I put in $5. I can't spare anything at the moment. I am going to relocate back to Europe in june. That will suck out all the money again, and some more. Maybe I will donate more a bit later when i have a better view of my financial situation.
porfiry i have pm'd you about how i can contribute and the above is all you can say? for everyones information i sent the following to davew's email account i want to contribute to the sciforums fund raiser but i do not have a paypal account. i also do not have a credit card any suggestions? signed as you can see it isn't only the posters that don't care
Maybe you can ask a friend who does have a pay pal account and give him the sum in cash to be donated.
Some points that influenced the amount I donated: 1. Maybe I could have given more, but I am not that desperate. If sciforums went down I would have more time to do other things. In fact I would be forced to do other things. 2. The reponse of porfiry that Leopold quoted doesn't make me very optimistic about sciforums' future. 3. Maybe bring back the adds if things are that desperate. I will click on a few every week.
Sciforums was down in May of last year. I'm not sure when it came back online, late May or early June? I assume that is when the annual payment is due again, but don't know for certain of course. (Yes, I did kick in $10 last week, I just wasn't planning to announce that fact)
I suggest we all bookmark the link to the Dropcash campaign and if worst happens then at least additional resources could be added in an emergency.
Another point: What happens to all the money donated so far if Porfiry closes sciforums? Does he just keep it as 'back payment'?
Well, there is no return policy. I hope that he'll buy as much hosting time as he can for the sum donated.
