That's a rather narrow definition of 'faith' that doesn't necessarily correspond to how it's used in everyday language. What you're talking about, I would qualify as 'blind faith'. But 'faith' as a general concept is coterminous with most forms of confidence or trust.
Exactly, I'm not talking about the general concept, I'm talking about the religious meaning. They are different.
True, and I gathered that early on, but most people are going to assume the former. In future conversation, I would qualify it with "religious faith" to be clear, since I think a lot of people will misunderstand what you're saying. Which gets compounded with some people on this forum being very unclear in their posts.
