i agree with Joeman, its a good idea. There has been an elite at sci ever since i have been here but it goes with the territory. When you get a group of people with higher IQs they tend to think themselves superior. It doesnt bother me, but, what does it the amount of drivel being posted on a science forum (i always thought it was). Drivel too takes up bandwidth.

That is not true. What happens is there is a group of people who think they have high IQ and superior, but there is really nothing superior about them.

Coffee, ha ha funny how your poll basically wants everyone to agree with you. No options for 'no'? Says a lot about you.

Sex is not something that can be wiped from forums, not any more than the scum on the upper inside of your toilet bowl. It's there, and it's fucking well gonna STICK there. So deal with it.

Besides, sex is one of the primary drives of humankind. We should celebrate and elevate that drive.

How does adolescent banter and soft core porn elevate the sex drive?
I had a semi-intelligent (I thought) discussion of promiscuity and social conditioning in ethics:
    http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11080

Others have discussed incest and homosexuality in ethics. Hell, I've deconstructed porn shops in General Phi.

I don't see why we'd need a seperate forum for it. If you want to discuss "whether those cherry flavoured condoms are tastier than the chocalate flavoured condoms" or "what's the best way to treat rope burns" (aloe vera and antibiotic cream, cotton gauze that can breathe), put it in free thoughts or find someplace that it would fit.

Not only that, but am I the only person who's been inside a chat room? C'mon. The last thing we need is more idiots.

Who the fuck would bother, then? I hate elites. 99 times out of 99 they aren't elite at all.

It never ceases to amaze me at how others see one. Lordly, never considered myself as a too bright a candle on the cake. Just a joe that has been around the block a time or two.

Now myself, I enjoy seeing the ladies on the forums. Why? Because they have totally different views on life and subjects from us guys. That includes the regulars such as Xev, nightfall, strgrl, Bansee and on and on. (Sorry if I misspelled anyone's netname.) But guys, face it, most of the ladies will not care for the crude and rude. (And no I am not singling anyone out or pointing fingers.) Nor am I saying the ladies are saints or will not get down to the same level. But the majority have at one time or another made it clear where to stop. I for one do not want to lose a single one of them to some yoyo that doesn't know when to quit or where to draw the line. We have indeed seen a few of those out there.

I addressed some concerns to the movement, so to say and can not support such without those concerns being met. I will not disclose the nature or the people involved but my intentions are for what is best for sciforums. Without solutions to those problems I can not in good faith support such a topic as a forum theme.

I have long stated that we can not ignore sex and that it will creep into our topics and thoughts as it plays such a large part in our lives both in day to day and in the course of life itself. But that is not an excuse to see just how down and dirty one can be. I think we have all seen examples of where that leads, mainly in Free Thoughts. Understand, I am no prude. I am a father. That should say something by itself. My daughter long ago grew up, got married and had children of her own. Need I say more?

There are plenty other forums out there that support sex forums, I suggest they vacate this board and go to these sites.

You're a little new around here, On Radioactive Waves, but there have been
a few in times past who have pushed the limits ... But with some intelligence
and without being juvenile potty mouths.

Zero what does it say about me? I think that it says that I would rather have the people who are against this topic post their opinions instead of voting on a poll.

When you post things trying to insult other posters then back it up with sarcastic comments doesnt win over good opinions of yourself. arseedrain, you have to agree with me? no?
Its not what i consider a joke okay, am i allowed to voice my opinion?

Well, you did type "arse". Aren't you also insulting me?

As for your question, yes I agree that you shouldn't insult other posters just for the sake of insulting. And yes, you're certainly allowed to voice your opinion.
