    Fine, but it doesn't matter.

So if the government changes to one that you absolutely fear (perhaps a fascistic regime), you also fear your country ?

What about the natural beauty of your country, and the people and their mentality ?

The U.S has a government by the people and for the people. Weird things have happened in Europe and still does on the fringe of the continent but I cannot see that happening in most modern countries.

What have you been drinking or smoking John? The United States does not have a government of, by and for the people. It has a government of, by and for those governing/deceiving the masses.

Well John, I am have not been passed over for a promotion. And I have a comfortable life...all of it I earned the old fashioned way. I put myself through college working full time and going to school full time. I started my own business.

But it pisses me off to see the BS that occurs in Washington...the unabated greed and the mess we are in and it is because legislation was and has been for sale to the highest bidder.

The state of healthcare would not be the way it is if we had free markets in the healthcare industry. Now we are going to get socialized medicine because it is the only realistic alternative given the current state of corruptionn in Washington.

Did it ever occur to you that the reason those educated liberals supported the invasion of Iraq was because there was, as a matter of fact, a high possibility that Iraq really did have WMDs? Of course it's easy to say now, but before the war, people truly believed Saddam to be in possession of nuclear weapons. And everything Saddam did encouraged the idea.

It has been shown conclusively that the 'evidence' was fabricated.

Why? It's not rocket science. Our (USA) govt. is NO LONGER the govt. of Jefferson, Franklin, et. al.

    Yes, precisely.

I admit it's been years since my High School "US Govt." classes, but I seem to remember something about the "standing army" being introduced in the 19th century, well after the Constitution had been ratified. And after MUCH debate. Maybe I'm thinking of something else. (Like the IRS maybe.

Everybody keeps talking about defending our rights, but the justice system dosn't work. The government is not populist by the people democraticly. It is plutocracy of might makes right. America does not understand the most important fact about governance and leadership.

FACT: The happiness of the individual is full responsibility of whoever is in charge.

Oh and I forgot to add that I think your opinion is not truly rational. I must agree with ashura's comment on your opinion of the role of those in charge that "the happiness of the individual is [their] full responsibility..." People don't always know what is best for them, bearing in mind that the USA is not exactly known for its brilliant populous. Why do you think majority of US citizens are millions upon millions if not billions of dollars in debt? And it's not because of taxes that might I add people want to eradicate without thinking of the consequences such as no public schooling.

MYTH: The military establishment acts on its own volition, absent civilian command directives.

Cuz Wall Street has done a marvelous job of convincing us that debt is good.

Plus, we've taken the hint of same from our squandering govt.

More Bombs More Bombs More Bombs More Bombs More Bombs More Bombs More Bombs...

Want to provide a source to this claim? Last time I checked Wall Street doesn't like negative numbers. However I will say that in some very rare cases debt is needed, but never for an individual. Comparing the financing methods of a country's government to that of an country's individual is folly.

:bugeye:Have you been paying attention? The housing bubble, hedge funds, rampant speculation, the banking bail-out, the list goes on...
Hell, I was listening to the news one day and a financial advisor came right out and said that "some 'debt is good'."

This is anything but a "free nation". It is a very fascist nation run on pure manipulation of the people under the maniuplative guise of freedom.

Violence only begets violence. Freedom is proteted by diplomacy. If there is an attack on the borders of a country, armed forces for border protection should only be use with the utmost moderation. While "exessive moderation" is an oxymoron, it is the most best way to describe the most effective/efficient/diplomatic way a territory should protect itself.

Attacking territories for any reason is complete foolishness. Open free-trade and diplomacy with recognition of huma rights of all people around the world is most intelligent foreign policy.

False. All governments no matter how fascist they are claim to govern by and for the people. What makes you think USA claims of freedom legitimate while other countries get accused of deceptive propaganda on their people?

    Right:
And John99's response to that is a personal attack.
Anybody with any intelligence knew that back in the 90's, when Clinton was intentionally falsifying claims all over the news that Iraq had WMDs, that it was 100% fabricated lunacy.
