Which is more effective in reaching an audience, the sound bite or the lecture? I believe the sound bite is more persuasive providing the point is concise and simply, whereas the lecture can convey more information providing the speaker doesn't bore her audience in the process.

It depends on what you want to reach the audience for. If you want the members of your audience to go away with a degree in phyisics, a series of lectures is probably more effective. If you want them to go away chanting, "Lock her up!" and lynching Hispanics, go with a sound bite.
