What is the supposed common ancestor of the platypus and the goldfish?

It does kind of take the wind out of your sails when you realize your humble origins. (I thought God wanted us to be humble). I sorry that the truth is difficult for you to accept. I urge you not to accept it on faith, but do some real research into the subject, it is fascinating.
Richard Dawkins wrote a book recently called, "The Ancestor's Tale", in which he traces the line of humans backwards, describing all our common ancestors.

Actually, there probably was no such things as a single first life form. Life probably emerged gradually from non-life. The distinction depends more on our definitions than reality.

Say I have two bags.. one bag of rice and one bag of sand.

I gather two empty buckets and mix.

60% of the first bucket is sand and the other 40% is rice.

In the other bucket, it's 100% sand.

The second bucket shares 60% of it's own makeup with the first bucket, but obviously the second bucket did not come from the first bucket. Their own creations are only common to the same outside source.

 

Ah yes, the ol' sand and rice analogy, why have we never heard that brilliance before? Ahahahahaha.

 

Geez, ya' mean god did it the slow way? Darn, I had this great vision of him sitting up there watching all life grow from one lousy little "thing" ....while sipping on mint juleps, of course.

Oh, well, what the hell, ....god had plenty of time and plenty of mint juleps, so I guess he could afford to do it the slow, tedious way, huh?

More than likely, the common ancestors of all life on earth were a small variety of viruses.

 

In matters of existence, it is logically impossible to prove a negative... not to mention the onus of proof is on the claimer of a positive regardless.

 

It's a little more than that. It is an idea that will be or is being tested against reality.

I don't mean to belittle God here, but when you factor in the time it took for this to happen, God only had to be slightly smarter than a purely random process (IQ=0). Therefore, God has an IQ of about 1.

 

And what does that show or prove? There are also species who became extinct in the past centuries, many we dont even know about.

OK,i would say for a fgact in even 90 billion years you do not go from from Virus to microchip designing human. You Darwinist's are good at insulting people, but also seem to be very gullible.

The design process of evolution only made small choices based on performance, therefore, it did not need to think through everything.

I'm sure I could accomplish alot too if I lived 4 billion years.

 

How can a supposed morphing process make "small choices?"
