Yep and eventually resulted in the species we call human. Isn't the human species the most dominant life form on the planet? It seems we have become a stronger life form then our oldest ancestor.

Why isn't it possible? Reality says that not only is it possible, but it actually happened. Truth isn't the result of a person's cognitive geometry or how they feel. It is the result of reality... i.e. reality is the definitive 'authority' as to what is true and what isn't true.

OT but how long would it take for all life to completely collapse in the absense of bacteria? where would we be without these glorified sanitation workers?

um, what other functions do they perform?

Hey! This is all very nice and civilized. Let me help.

IceBrain, you are a moron. You have contributed nothing substantive whatsoever. Let's see you give some reasoned answers like proving your assertion that god exists (it's your burden to prove, not ours to disprove). Or quantitatively disprove the results of every known radiological dating test in existence. Or maybe a discourse on why you share 98%+ in common DNA sequences with chimps. Or why you have toes that are oddly finger-like and useless for anything else. Or why your mitochondrial DNA is distinct from your "other" DNA.

Or will you come back with some utterly stupid rhetoric again? And again, and again...

Give us a hint as to why you are not a complete moron.

That's another matter. The fact that they are still around, and still evolving, proves that they represent a very successful form of life.

Actually, the genesis of life from lifeless matter is a part of neither Darwinism nor Evolution, it is Abiogenesis. And while Abiogenesis is a valid scientific theory (in contrast to "Intelligent Design" which is not) it is indeed unproven and should be taught as such.

Taxonomy is about nomenclature, not genetics and actually has very little to do with hard science. Unfortunately for those of us who are a bit stodgy in our way of thinking, the world and life in particular does not always fit into strictly ordered distinctions. Taxonomy imnsho is based upon the outdated mode of classifying living things by their appearance and behavior when in reality things are not so clear cut or concise. However, categorization will always fail in this regard.

Abiogenesis has a clearly scientific foundation and definitely belongs in science classrooms. Although I do agree that the strengths and weaknesses of any theory taught in the classroom should be explained.

Nothing in science is 100% positive. You'd also better get ready to throw out History, Economics, Politics, Art, Language, Sociology, etc, etc, etc. None of these are 100% verifiable. Very little is. Basically, you're stuck with math and logic, and even those are debatable.

Evolution is about the development of species, not the origin of life. As to that, we should be teaching the children that we have some good ideas... and here they are... but that we don't know for certain.

Ultimately, no one can explain the beginning of anything. Rather arbitrary then, isn't it, to hold Evolution to this criteria and nothing else?

What differentiates a hypothesis from a guess is that a hypothesis must be testable. A good hypothesis also makes predictions and contradicts no known facts.

    A guess is also testable.

do you even understand the mechanics of evolution?

anything created in the lab is essentially evolution.
bringing the right chemicals together at the right time under the right conditions to produce a different substance.

    dominant:
–adjective : ruling, governing, or controlling; having or exerting authority or influence: dominant in the chain of command.

    prevalent:
–adjective : widespread; of wide extent or occurrence; in general use or acceptance.

The definiton of dominant is being confused with prevalent in your response.

Yes. You changed the flora and fauna of your intestinal tract by expelling a certain population.
