Hi there. I thought I'd create an introduction to Mathematics.

In Mathematics there are only ten possible symbols, and only four possible operators. For the symbols, 0-9 are used. Then for 10, the zero is REUSED, and a column is added leftwards, and the 1 is REUSED. For eleven the 1 is REUSED TWICE, and so on. With the decimal system, columns are added leftwards, and symbols are REUSED, but there are still only ten possible symbols: 0-9 (0 being the first symbol, and 9 being the tenth symbol.)

    9-10
    8-9
    7-8
    6-7
    5-6
    4-5
    3-4
    2-3
    1-2
    0-1

    The four possible operators are:+,×,-,÷.

All other mathematical operations are constructed from these four operators.

    ×?=

This brings us to equals. This may also be considered to be a mathematical operator, but it is usually the last operator, and symbolises a total.

Incorrect on both counts. For example, you mention square roots. The square root involves both an extra symbol/notation and is an operation that is conceptually different to the four you mention.

Moreover, you have ignored the entirety of algebra in claiming there are only ten symbols. Also, your operators all have symbols, which makes 14 symbols even if we only take the ones that you introduced above.

Moderator note: Thread has been moved from Maths subforum to Free Thoughts.

Our Science sections, including Physics and Math, are supposed to be for useful discussions of Science and Maths topics. The current time-waster of a thread fits better elsewhere. Let's keep the Physics and Math subforum for those who are equipped to have serious discussions of those topics, and for those who honestly want to learn something about physics or maths.

You seem to be confusing the keys on a calculator with constraints on mathematics.

This is rife with errors and misconceptions. You should stop.
