I always had the impression that it's easier to see what others do wrong. It's harder to see what I am doing wrong because I don't have a mirror constantly in front of me. Uh-huh.
It's one thing to overcome challenges, quite another to place them in someone's way in some misguided attempt to encourage them to "grow" as a person.
i often use that as a metaphor for a relationship with god. it's like someone follows you around with a mirror, holding it up, asking you probing yet inherently rhetorical questions. doesn't that sound like fun?
