    What you are seeing in this photo is a take off of the APOD (Astronomy Picture of the Day) of the Cartwheel Galaxy (see above picture). The Cartwheel Galaxy is the remnants after a galactic collision. The gravity of both galaxies set up waves that disturb the dust and disrupt the structure.

    In the study of the picture it was wondered, where is the other galaxy that collided with it? The green lines represent neutral hydrogen emissions picked up by radio astronomy that point to the hit and run galaxy in the picture below.
