The modern man sees the importance of an eclipse merely in the fact that it happens. BUT WHAT DOES THE ECLIPSE MEAN? This is something science can never can answer, for it can answer only HOW but never WHY.

Are the police aware you're using the internet, Dennis?

This makes about as much sense as usual.

Isn't it because the moon gets in the way of the sun every now and then? The "why" of it is that the moon orbits the Earth and the Earth orbits the sun, and these things happen approximately (but not exactly) in the same plane. Things are also complicated by the fact that the Earth's axis is also titled with respect to its orbital plane around the Sun.

What do you think the eclipse means?

The question we all want to ask, has turned out to be my own task,
    Is cyberredarmy really that barmy,
Or did he just drink too much from a cask?

He's troubled by things in the sky, like when sun and the moon are both high,
The mechanics are easy, but he still feels quite queasy,
For they cannot tell us the Why!

So he posts on this forum just once, (perhaps he thinks we're all ____'s)
Is he some kind of expert, or a logical pervert,
    Well, frankly I think he's a dunce.

It means the moon happens to move between the Earth and the Sun in the daytime.

Since this was essentially drive-by spam, I'm closing the thread.

Dennis: it's really not in your best interests that you keep posting this stuff, so I'm banning your latest sock puppet. I hope you understand. Good luck.
