I disagree. You can replace your liver, or lungs, or kidney, or heart. You are still you. We will likely soon have the technology to replace larger parts of your body. In that case, you would still be you. You would not be 80% of you even if 20% of your body was lost, say due to an accident. What is "you" is your consciousness, residing primarily in your brain.
Right. And that consciousness IS you.
Feel free to believe whatever nonsense you like.

Yes, I meant *greatest satisfaction* in an abstract sense as a limit of comfort (order). A pendulum will swing back and forth, trying to attain equilibrium between movement and say, *gravity'. Eventually the pendulum will come to *rest* at the point of greatest gravitational pull. This state of equilibrium (satisfaction) is a natural tendency of maintaining order.

    @ Sarkus,
While it may seem that throwing oneself on a grenade in order to save the group seems counter intuitive, suppose that this person has been diagnosed for a terminal illness. He is going to die anyway. Would it give greater satisfaction for this person to know that as he is at the end if his life anyway, he can find satisfaction by saving several others?

One is the eternal and ultimate reality and the other is merely transient and destructible.

I think that one of the strategies of living is to face one's fears. To confront the enemy within. Fear is an enemy of itself ("the only thing to fear is fear"), this makes one an enemy without. Sadness is sadness itself. Anxiousness is but anxiousness. Malice is non-existent as is sorrow. Who we be is one entity, that one is amenable to "theological interpretation", as Langan so eloquently put it. We are one mind tru say. One soul, one heart. I am that. Who am I? Who we be? and who we are? is all one saying.

Yes we can. We can CHOOSE what to do and who to be. It is the choice of the one.

"...but which part would you like to bring?"-Snatch.

Well I disagree with that statement. This may be subjectively true, but from an objective GR standpoint, any *observer* is *recording* what they see.
The doppler effect is as real to a wave spectrometer as it is to a person.

Life if like a lemon. For the fruit of the lemon tree truly is sour, as Langan once said, squishing up his eyes and sticking out his tongue and saying "bleuughh!"

Yes. And the subjective has equal priority as the objective. But even in GR everything is still subjective!

In order to gain the pure awareness of reality and oneself we need to separate illusion from reality.

Should I move this thread to "Reality is..." now?
