Is there a song or piece of music that never ends? That goes on forever?

None that I know of . . . 'close seconds' might be 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat' or '99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall' since these lyrics/music can be repeated ad infinitum (ad nauseum?)

"The Song That Never Ends" by Sheri Lewis and friends in "Lamb chop's Play-along" tv show.

I had an interesting experience with that song. I boarded an airliner to take a consulting engagement on the other side of the country. This was just a few months after Sheri Lewis had died. I noticed that there were an unusually large number of young people on the plane, perhaps high school kids going on an excursion. About two hours into the flight, one of them began singing "The Song that Never Ends." Soon all of them were singing. But more amazing, about ten minutes later, almost everybody on the plane had joined in--including me, of course.

We kept it going for more than an hour. It was a really sweet experience.

You beat me to it. It was going to suggest "A googol green bottles sitting on a wall" or whatever, as a piece of music that can go on for as long as you can stand it.

    The correct lyrics are:

n bottles of beer on the wall, n bottles of beer.
If one of those bottles should fall off the wall, n-1 bottles of beer on the wall.

    n-1
bottles of beer on the wall, n-1 bottles of beer...

The last line (when the car stops) is

    Where n= ...

This is the only way to have closure.
