The soul of conscious technology

In a darkened room a group of friends sat around a mouse mat and monitor. They each placed a finger gently over the mouse button and concentrated on the web pages displayed on the monitor. No one spoke but after a while the cursor began to glide across the screen where it came to rest on a link. Something clicked the button.

How could you test for techno consciousness ?
