Don Sheron, Express-News Science/Technology Writer, October 3, 1999: The search for water in the solar system has turned up some interesting surprises... The implications may rewrite the story of life in the solar system... In August, scientists announced finding water inside a meteorite found in Texas. When NASA scientists cracked open the meteorite, they found purple spots of salt crystals and minute amounts of briny water. This discovery suggests the meteorite came from an asteroid with water flowing on it... The Galileo spacefcraft now orbiting Jupiter has found evidence of subsurface water on two Jovian moons - Gamymede and Callisto. ------------------ Have a great day!
Didn't they have some probe fly by our planet and scan it, only to have the results come back that there was no life here? I don't recall the name of the probe, but I got a kick out of the story.
That is pretty funny! Then, again, some might say that it lends credibility to the "illusion" theory of existence. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! ------------------ Have a great day!
The existence of life on Earth is visible - with a high degree of probability - in the oxygen content of the atmosphere. In theory, that could be spotted from nearby stars.
