Who ever said Republicans were rational?

Because he is a Republican. It really is that simple.

Yeah, but they don't see it; and they won't see it; they don't want to see it.

The demise of the Fairness Doctrine in 1987 gave rise to the right-wing entertainment industry. It's very similar to Putin's propaganda machine right down to the scripted talk shows. Republicans are taught to ignore inconvenient facts and they do. They have their own set of “facts”. They have “alternative facts” i.e. fiction which they believe to be factual. And they just make shit up as needed, because they are in a war against "liberals", i.e. anyone who isn't a Republican, and the end justifies the means.

A perpetual single party Republican state built on misinformation and mind control like Putin's Russia. They'd keep Democrats around because they need someone to blame for their transgressions and failures. In Republican world there would be no real political opposition to them. We are looking at a fascist state.

What's Trump hiding? If he fires Mueller, that's big.

That's where Republicans are going, a totalitarian crony state born and sustained on the backs of the ignorant.

    It is already here!
It is not something to happen in the future... it is already apparent. ( just not as effective as Trump would like)
The next major change Trump will seek to install is to remove the limitations on how long a person can serve as President. ( re: Erdogan of Turkey)

After further restricting voting rights ( re: Sessions)

Well unlike Trump, Mueller is a smart guy. Trump saw what happened the last time he fired a smart guy. But then Trump is a dumb fellow. So he really might be that dumb. He has made a career of repeating his mistakes. Trump doesn't learn.

If Trump does fire Mueller, and if there is any integrity left in Congress, Congress will reinstate the Independent Prosecutor Law and appoint Mueller as the independent prosecutor. If that happens, Trump will not be able to fire him.

There is a congressional election next year. The entire lower house will be up for election and a portion of the upper house, i.e. the Senate, will be up for election. Trump's job approval ratings have gone from 45% to 35% since Trumps inauguration just a few months ago.

Yep, firing Mueller will slow down the investigation, and that's reason enough for Trump to dismiss him. It will be an obstruction of justice. But if Republicans refuse to impeach Trump, he can get by with it.

They will claim it as a "delay in justice" and not an obstruction thus further excusing the POTUS.

Probably, or they can argue he's new; he didn't understand; he didn't know what he was doing. They can pull that one out of the hat again.

To the one, that is actually covered by the rule. To the other, watch in all of this how many standards we absolutely break. The thing is that every question about this or that standard of justice that prosecutors and judges of history disregarded will suddenly come crashing back; maybe it wasn't good enough for those ghosts, but we'll haul it out for a rich white guy betraying the country from the Oval Office.

There is plenty of rulebreaking in these United States; of that there has never been any question. But every now and then, when it comes time for traditions to answer, we grant them a stay by breaking—shattering, wrecking, rendering inoperable, destroying, terminating—the rule.

President Trump is not a professional politician or a lawyer, so he is not an expert at the legal procedure games. The secret hand shakes of lawyers and two faced lies of politicians is the basis for the witch hunt; lawyer games. A good defense lawyer can make a Mother Teresa look like a hooker while a good DA can make a innocent man look guilty. This is a demonstration of the swamp.

The President is the CEO of the executive branch. That means the buck stops at the president, giving him the need and the authority to speak to and fire anyone subordinate to him, connected to the executive branch, including the head of the FBI. Where Trump departed is he did not fire the FBI director based on some pretentious ceremony of politicians and lawyers. It is not illegal what he did, it violates protocol, which is cliquish.

Trump has not broken any laws. He is only guilty of not following the protocol of the swamp. This threatens the way of the swamp, which is designed to create jobs for lawyers and make it so only lawyers can steal from the system. Trump cut out the middlemen, which has led to a union type backlash in the form of legal double talking grievances that have nothing to do with Constitutional law.

Once again we are all taking out eye off the ball. Hillary Clinton's private server was hacked by foreign governments, including the Russians. The FBI concluded that there were finger prints from at least 3-4 different foreign governments on Hillary's server, including those of the Russians. This server was in operation while she was Secretary of the State and while she had access to classified information. She used a private server to avoid public disclosure law; lawyer trick, so she could conduct personal business on US company time and dollar. It is very likely that the Russians were black mailing her, and that Trump's victory spoiled the plot of the Russians and Clintons. Now they need to cover this up. Who knows how much treason was committed before they had to shut down.

For example, the Russians had no fear of President Obama when Obama drew lines in the sand in Syria. One reason is, Obama could not bluff, because the Russians and others had access to the Clinton server and knew the strategy in advance. The entire Trump controversy is a smoke screen to avoid having the finger of blame pointed to the Clinton and Obama Teams. Obama may have known about the server but still transferred classified information.

What scared the Democrats was when Trump made a joke about maybe the Russians could find Hillary's lost e-mails. This was a joke that hit a very sensitive spot. It got all the Democrats on the war path, playing lawyer she said and he saids, games, since the corruption ran very deep. The Clintons were preparing for the presidential election process and all Democrats were involved in the cover up to avoid the crap hitting the fan.
