i think the village was ok. it was one of those films that got you thinking as it did not answer all the questions it provoked. such as if the government did not want anyone flying overhead was that because they knew about it and were using it as an experinment? or could a place like that actually exist in our country and we not ever know about it? we know we could survive a situation like it as we developed from that to become what we are now. also if you notice all the disaster movies end up with civilisation going back a step such as 28 days later and dawn of the dead, day after tomorrow,independance day and having to learn again how to live without tv basically.
