↑ Quoted by Tiassa from my OP in the other This is moderation? thread: Really calling 'this' childish bullshit is also unnecessary and hardly moderate, but at least his is aimed at the post and not the poster. Tiassa: I think you might have made a mistake when you filed a post report complaining according to an inaccurate quote. Now, I'm all well and fine if people wish to celebrate dismal conduct, but the staff has not yet received any explicit instruction to coddle bad faith. That applies both to the childish bullshit in the flamebait thread, as well as the present complaint thread. We should probably take a poll on people's expectations of good faith, but that's a far more complicated question than the current complaint about the manner in which a flamebait thread laden with childish bullshit was closed. I am not sure if you are responding in an official capacity. If so, I find it odd you did not respond to my main point that Bells called participants in the thread stupid. Is that OK Tiassa? Do we need to take a poll about that? Is there a reason you chose one part of my response to focus on? As far as the part you focused on, here we are in Site Feedback. My main issue was with something else, but I see no positive gain in framing the OP of that thread the way Bells did. I don't think it sets much tone for civility. I think that's fine as Site Feedback on my part. Next you think(??) I 'may have filed a post report complaining according to an inaccurate quote'. This should have been easy to check, I thought the reporting it would have localized it. In any case, here's the link. http://www.sciforums.com/threads/ten-ways-religion-makes-us-dumber.160520/page-2#post-3502482 Was it? What was my error? I used copy and paste so it is hard for me to imagine what could have been inaccurate. I added Bells name in parentheses. Other than that I just copied. Come on, this is simple. A moderator called a bunch of people stupid. I think pretty much any rational forum would see this as a moment for an apology and we all move on. We all make mistakes. Tiassa: Now, I'm all well and fine if people wish to celebrate dismal conduct, but the staff has not yet received any explicit instruction to coddle bad faith. I don't see where I suggested celebrating dismal conduct. So I am not sure the relevance. As far as coddling bad faith, no one asked for that. I focused on the language used. Bells could have said the OP was trolling and locked the thread. No coddling. I was not the OP writer, I was one of the people Bell's called stupid. And let's remember it took MORE effort and time for Bells to be rude.
