People so often say January to June when they mean January through June. (This is only 1 example)
They seem to not know the difference between to & through or just never think of the word through.

A statistics textbook says "Any probability must be between 0 & 1, inclusively". Without the word inclusively, the sentence would leave out something important.

    "Pick a number between 1 & 100."
    "100"
    "I said between 1 & 100."
    "Huh?"

    "1988 to 1998" does not include 1998. "From 1988 to 1998" does not include 1988. "1988 to (or through) 1998, inclusively" includes 1988 & 1998.

A scale of 1 to 10 may as well be called a scale of 0 to 9. What I suspect is meant is a scale of 0 to 10 but that is not what they are saying.

I'm not sure that in context the word "inclusively" is needed. Given that 0.99999 recurring = 1 and 0.000000000000 recurring = 0, then the two are automatically included. The difference here is that the ambiguity lies with positive integers, (January to June including or excluding June) not the floating point probability between 0 and 1.

Many people have not heard of that. It is not mentioned in the statistics books I've read. Inclusively makes it absolutely clear for everyone.

So that's why the phone on the bedside table looked like it was active

    It was

    And you were listening in

    Nice one

By the way did she contact you with the couple of Medical problems she was concerned about?

One she told me about cleared up with a course of antibiotics

The other one well DNA proved not mine

Last I heard she was still searching for all her parners to notify them about 1 and who to pin number 2 on

I don't know how you made out what she was saying, what with all OhGodOhGod noises from the bed.

That was a few weeks later

I did hear some OhgodOhgod and I thought

Well he has sent her on her way to her Rapture

Just before that who was she calling

    "You little Devil"?

Did she mean YOU? or the little bit of you?

Trump is going to hell in a happy meal, and he's taking all of us with him.

    There.

    No ambiguity at all.

    That's how it's done.

    Close enough.

The context takes you the rest of the way.

Some say you must pay by Wednesday or you have until Wednesday & mean very early Wednesday morning. Others say that & mean close of business or late Wednesday afternoon. Usually neither make it clear.
