& they don't want to highlight the issue that their customers are polarized political combatants
where the company needs to define its own land & own rules to mediate
they want to maintain that ass kissing image of being the soft target so litigious urban bottom feeders & right wing gun crazy psychos will feel comfortable spending their money & not shooting the place up instead.

    that's America !

but the statement of position is the management showing they are clearly out of their depth when they don't know how to manage their own customers on site & in store
as they are expected to do for safety
but the American liable laws & psychopath lack of empathy moral code defines liberalism to have no accountability for others welfare

    they just want the money
    not the civil war
    but they fucked up
    now they gotta pay
even if this guy is a crazy
they operate their mask discretion to cater to crazy customers

they probably employed him BECAUSE he aligns with their crazy customers
    keep that in mind

profiling to employ to create the Disney plethora of characters for image

they should have offered him a severance package & a non disclaimer contract & asked him to look for a job somewhere else.

simply bought him out like all good companys do and keep their god damn mouth shut
& whom ever the manager was probably need to go and/or that managers manager for not keeping a lid on it & in house and managing their crazy character actor for their crazy character customers
arrogant ego maniacs looking for their own ego
lets see how much it costs them

he can sue them for emotional damages now

probably around 200k out of court would be the 1st offer going up to 500k to drop all other claims.
considering emotional harm which has created stress PTSD depression anxiety disorders etc etc etc
would likely be a few million and pretty clear cut
if he falls over at home & injures himself (or has a motor vehicle accident or heart attack) & so cant work he can blame that on anxiety stress and depression caused by the company.

a good lawyer could profile their employees to show he was hired because of his profile image of values toward part of their customer base who believe masks are compulsory
then clearly illustrate they hire by profiling & thus have no single values system and have committed a dishonest act while attempting to deceive other employees & their customers.

the deception to their customers is they care about them
    RE face masks
the deception to their staff is they are fair & equal & hold everyone to the same level of values
while only chasing the money and leaving both employee and customer in the dirt with covid

    @ Seattle:

If customers refuse to wear masks, TJ should back their employees to have to deal with those customers. If they don’t, then they don’t care about the pandemic, or trying to prevent the spread of it. You’re either enforcing rules or not - it sounds like the CEO ignored this employee’s suggestions and also found a way to fire him.

So, are you okay shopping at stores where you’re wearing a mask but others aren’t?

Speaking of Disney - no mask? No fun. Lol You’re not allowed in. And they monitor guests once inside the park.
I’ve heard this from a friend who works there.

I don't think it's that simple in the real world.

A Qanon type puts a mask on to enter, then takes it off. Now she's in the checkout line. Do you ring her up to get her out the door as quickly as possible, or make her stand there while she yells, maskless, in the faces of all the other people in line? Do you tackle her and force a mask over her face? Do you call the police and again make her stand there while she yells without a mask?

What most stores have done (at least that I've seen) is to say "please wear a mask" and then keep ringing them up to get them out the door. Does that store want to spread COVID?

I agree that it's a huge problem. But the answer is not as simple as "either the store makes everyone wear a mask or they don't care about spreading COVID."

i probably should have illiterated my terminology a little clearer.
my use of the word "Disney" is like "show-bizz front of house" it has no relation to the actual company or brand, but in the peoples perception of the belief of the image as a representing brand metaphor.

like "Disney princes" can be applied to mean someone who is a bit of a show off high maintenance and overtly concerned with image
Disney as a brand is not the negative trait, but the peoples perception to only seek to have a surface view.
    i like Disney generally

i have worked in such high level presentation & regulation & skill environments for some time
in the past and LOVE 99.9999999% of those people in the industry

I understand. There aren't any quick fixes or easy solutions when dealing with emotions. In one of the links a few posts up, I've shared that there is an anti-masker crowd protesting outside of one of the TJ stores, comparing wearing a mask to the Nazi regime.

That's what store employees are expected to deal with?

Of course, we don't have all the details here, but it seems that this fired employee was praised for his customer service, and received high marks in a recent review. TJ corporate is now claiming he was rude to customers? It just doesn't add up. We're all entitled to our opinions, maybe it adds up for you. Maybe you see something that I don't see, but from what I've read (outside of the article posted in the OP) it seems like corporate is coming up with a story to cover that they're not enforcing the mask policy as they should. (It's listed in the letter to the CEO, that no one should be allowed in the store without a mask, so it must be a problem.)

why dont the police manage these protests to keep them inside a boundary & out of the access ways of customers & public walk ways ?
it appears like usa police management are complicit with this anarchist interference in public order

people publicly speaking & delivering mass audience public statements labeling pandemic safety as nazi is public disorder as well as borderline hate crimes against the jews & romani & disabled.

so they are either a psychiatric patient on the loose on a manic episode
or an anarchist making a public event which by all laws requires a license.
its like the police WANT a civil war
    crazy
i am well aware of the right wing extremists nationalists who are using the word nazi as a propaganda offensive weapon against mainstream equality general public.
its getting well out of hand(the police have lost control)
but obviously thats deliberate by the police

No, I'm not OK. It hasn't happened to me however.

TJ does have a policy where you need to wear a mask to enter the store. They didn't fire him because some customer wasn't wearing a mask.

Their position is that he was rude to customers (I guess). His position is that he was fired because he wrote them a letter.

Keep in mind I live in Seattle so the mask avoiding gun toting types don't really show up in this area. We get the "defund the police" and "occupy Seattle" types.

    saying what
    "lock him up"
    "blow him up"
    "shoot him up"
    "hang him up"
    "bring him to justice"

you need to provide a little more clarity
    ...
    speaking "what way"
speaking that way about trader joe or the x employee ?
or do you mean about socialist police compulsory unionization ?

you think your being clever to try and politically align me to a gaslight concept

I wasn't thinking "de-fund police union tax haven retirement fund investments". I'm pretty sure you understand that you are the only one on here that processes words in that manner.

You realize that "panama socialist capital society" is neither a complete sentence nor even a complete thought?

The other day, I went to the grocery store. As I was fondling the avocados as a man and wife passed by. She was wearing a mask, he wasn't.
    I did not ask why.

Specifically, people publicly speaking & delivering mass audience public statements labeling Trump as a nazi supporter. Also saying he is guilty of borderline hate crimes against the jews & romani & disabled.

Should people who say that be arrested for public disorder?
