I've never encountered an atheist who made it their business to convert people to atheism. Condemning and discrediting theism isn't a mark of militancy, it is (at least in this context) a defense mechanism against the proliferation of religious dogma in society, whether that's government or the creation and enforcement of social taboos. Nor is being passionate a mark of militancy. I think this is where your confusion lies.
I said before you are an empty drum that resonate constantly. Have you seen the advertisement there were 8 of them. I am dumb enough to reply to your posting , but this is the last one .
You have now met an atheist who makes it his business to convert people to atheism. That is because I believe that rational thinking leads to atheism, and that rational thinking is vital to a functioning human society. Faith is a virus of the mind that people can be talked out of. Faith leads to decisions that are not based on reality and therefore result in negative consequences. If rational thinking led to theism, I would probably feel the same way about theism.
What's wrong with social taboos? Or do you like bestiality, incest, ... other taboos too horrible to name?
Please try reading what I write before responding from now on. I don't have a problem with social taboos as a general concept, and certainly don't have a problem with bestiality and incest being taboo (not that either of them require religion to be taboo). I have a problem with religion being the cause of a social taboo. Like divorce, for example.
Well...it's almost time to leave for East Texas for Thanksgiving..so I don't have time for a long response. Just one question for our Christian friends. How many strangers did you invite into your house and feed this week? This atheist fed one 21 year old from New Orleans who knocked on my door trying to sell me something, and hadn't eaten all day. Be EXCELLENT to each other, and party on dude.
I'm not lying, I'm telling the truth. You just don't want to hear about it because it threatens your worldview.
