I spent the afternoon riding, leading another horse from my friend's place to it's new home. Naturally, I had to find a cowboy song to post, there being a shortage of cowgirl songs, lol... 7 km there, 10 km to the new place and then 3 km home with a 'warm up gift' of a fine bottle of white wine tucked into the front of my parka. My mare is a fine, steady mount, the wine was never in any danger. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Mother http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...DwhFBuW6m-H7KaObA&sig2=OOat_4tQE_CypN-vF4JF9g She died today 7 years ago.
My sympathies to you, Cosmic. Some anniversaries will never get easier, no matter how much time passes. My own mother is visibly failing, and losing one's maternal bond, the portal by which we enter this life, is judged to be one of the greatest challenges we face. My sympathies for your loss also, Nietzschefan. It is a fact of life that we all eventually become members of the same support groups. Whether one is close to their mother or less so, the loss is one of the more profound crossroads of our journey.
Thank you for you kind words. At least I was with her and holding her hand when she passed at 95 of old age. She gave a little smile just before she let go which was something I'll never forget.
Allow me to post that as a link for you, Dominic. As soon as you have 20 posts your links will post live. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaGLVS5b_ZY&feature=related
Another tribute song for mothers, an old Irish ballad. This one is both sweet and poignant.....tissue paper close to hand is recommended for those of strong sympathetic/empathic nature. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4R7E4mNX5E
Thank you. Your selection by Celine was very nice also. I am constantly delighted to find hidden gems when I go 'song surfing'. The human condition is shared by us all, and while we do not all have identical experiences, there remain some that are universally experienced, and love and loss figures highly as the subject of much music.
