There have been devil worshippers for many hundreds of years. Anton and Peter there didn't invent Satanism, nor do they run the show - nor is he (Peter) convincing in his attempts to conjure up some kind of "evolutionary force of entropy" as an entity free of supernatural characteristics, because he says it is.

A self-described Satanist who declares that there is no such entity as Satan is in a very sophisticated, or very silly, position. Not a common one.

I am not drawing links anywhere really, the Church of Satan has already stated this and has been stating this since it started in the 1960s. If you don't believe me you can email them yourself and ask them whether or not Satanism is an Atheist "religion," or philosophy.

 

Why would we accept those guys as spokesmen for Satanism? Apparently, they don't even believe in Satan - kind of a minimal requirement, one would think.

At least, it was for centuries.

What's next - we accept Ron Hubbard's "Scientology" as evidence of the nature of science? Religious scams are a dime a dozen in the US - wait 'til you see what Islam spins off, if the current bigotry ever dies down far enough.

 

Satan is a deity, ergo nonexistent for atheists. How can someone who doesn't believe in the supernatural believe in satan?
