There's a "Libertarian" wing of the Republican Party. I'm part of it. Even the presidential candidate Ron Paul is part of it.

Conservatives seek to conserve the original ideals our country was based upon, which were quite libertarian. Liberals seek to impose some version of socialism/communism which has no basis whatsoever in Libertarianism.

Who are these libertarian Democrats you're talking about?

The first usage of "Hill-dog" was by Twitter handle "Fake Bill Clinton" years ago. I've been using it ever since.

Old thread, but nice. She proved it recently by barking on TV, and by her abysmal and bizarre behavior. Rabies, anyone?

    So it lives.

I always figured Billdog came from horndog, and Hilldog from the relationship and the fitting nature of the term.

Meanwhile: How's that Republican "libertarian" thing working out for y'all? That major wing of the Republican Party we had back in 2007, that was only invisible to liberals, I mean. You guys back Jeb!, Marco, Cruz, or Trump this time around?

Lessee: from the Dem libertarian side we got gay marriage, some better drug laws, some whistleblower protections, and the removal of Party representatives enforcing Party policy from the head offices of Federal regulatory agencies. From the Rep libertarian side we got the consequences of deregulating Wall Street financial corporations. So "both sides" made their characteristic contributions to liberty - yay for liberty!

When the Big Wall goes up on the Mexican border, we should post a sign: "This is the Republican libertarian side".

Since it's an active discussion again, does nobody remember the "dawg" trend in the nineties and into the new century? M'dawg! Yo, dawg! 'Sup, dawg?
