Why? I think there are many interesting themes discussed here. I think it is a very good science forum which contains a lot of information (and misinformation for that part, but that is to be expected).
I also like the philosophy forum and of course politics and I spend a big amount of time reading the more or less enlightening texts I find there.
But of course, if you are not interested in Science, Philosophy, Religion or Politics, this board is probably not very interesting for you.

It's popular because it caters to a lot of needs? There's forums for practically everything, a variety of types of people and also we finally have avatars back (I hated not having them

I live in Bothell, Washington, where the signs on the way in read, "Welcome to Bothell, for a day or a lifetime."

One of my favorite songs is called "Sing for the Day," and invites us to "Sing for the day, sing for the moment, sing for the time of your life. Come for an hour, stay for a moment, stay for the rest of your life."

    Shel Silverstein writes:

If you are a dreamer, come in,
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
    A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer ...
If you're a pretender, com sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.
    Come in!
    Come in!

And so it is with Sciforums. Pull yourself up a chair, grab yourself a sit, and contemplate for a while why you have spent 11% of your posting effort announcing that you have no need for the site. Are you telling us or trying to convince yourself?

If you find it boring, you can certianly work to make it less so. But you're already affected, as you feel the need to tell us about it. So go with it. You have the floor, the spotlight, and our not-quite-undivided attention.

Make yourself comfortable, get to know some folks. Who knows? You might surprise yourself and figure out what that need you already have actually is.

In the meantime, slap Jeffrey for us, please? (
