Alas, i caught it too late. Mostly everything seems fine except..and here's the kicker...my Anti-virus interface gives an unspecified error. One of the files I deleted during the panicked fiasco was richer32.dll.
Anyone know if it's important and if it is how do you restore deleted dll's?

I gather you meant Riched32.dll, I did a search on google it corrected to that, so I checked out what was spider and viola...

a page that you should find of use at microsoft. It should tell you how to patch your problem by extracting from the windows disk.

    http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q218838

if you have problem with that there is more information about the Size of Riched32.dll you should be looking for at:
    http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q197/5/80.ASP

    hope that helps
