Please, do remember that fantasy is listed as a sub topic here in scifi. It's allowed.

    GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Yes, its allowed in this forum. As for my thread, I want hardcore Sci-Fi. If I limit my responses, then so be it. There is a BIG difference between Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I consider mixing it all up almost atrocious!!!

    movies

even though it was cheesy I always liked the original Nemisis with Olivier Gruner

    Matrix I & II
    Titan A.E.
    Terminator 1-2

So many more I can't count. Most of them have some type of flaw somwhere but I can overlook them. After all their only movies.

    Hey thx

I LOVED Titan A.E. and every time i hear creed with higher i cry!!! Excellent choice.

As for terminator, I dont know...
I liked it for its novelty!

Im fanatical about the matrix universe, so even though I havent seen the third release, I know Im in love with the whole trilogy.

Youre right about the flaw thing, its the essence of the movie that counts. Dont you just wanna burn those critics??!!

Like the TV series OUTER LIMISTS, sometimes its very cheesy, but thats not the freakin point, is it?!? Is more than that. Same with my beloved Star Trek, though they still got to make a good movie of it!!! U know, I cried whenever the star trek theme played or when they said, "to infinity and beyond", my heart just jumped!!! But movies dont have that, coz, in a way, its a finality, one story told and thats the end...

Sure, MIB is Sci-Fi. I would say MIB 2 is one of the worst sci-fi movies ever!!!

As of lost in space, I loved it. The robot was great, also the remixed techno tune theme... Its exciting, why do you hate it so?

BTW, ET is also a fav, although I outgrew it.

Well, CounslersCoffee, lets not split hairs, but I do consider Titan AE pure Sci-Fi, even if it seems childish...

Still got to see Solaris, I heard the critics took it apart very fast...

My local video store doesnt keep the classics...how I despise them.

BTW, do you mean you though Solaris was original, or you liked THE original?

I liked the original, not the one with George Clooney.

Also, your posts were merged. (I normally do that when someone posts two times in a row.)

*EDIT* Yes I know Titan AE is scifi. I just hate the movie.

    How about Barbarella?

Just checking to see if anybody reads my posts. I do still like it, though!

For a long time I would have said Star Wars. But as it fades into history and Maia makes every SF movie look as good as Star Wars, I find myself remembering a film that didn't seem so special at the time. But it had a really good story with a trick ending and the characters were already beloved members of our Virtual Family: the very first Star Trek movie.

    Sorry CounslersCoffee

It was just before the software upgrade and I was having trouble seeing the 4 last posts no matter how many times I refreshed. So I had to go back, reply, go back again and reply...

Many people were put off by the way Titan AE meshed those computer graphics into the artwork...
I could critisize it sufficiently but what I loved was the story itself...he was their last hope...
Not so original I admit but maybe its a stage Im going through...

All the Star Wars movies except episode I (that one is a disgrace to the Star Wars legacy.) But if I must choose my FAVORITE, then I definitely say The Return of the Jedi!!

All you guys are way too dazzled by special effects and media hype.
The best sci-fi film of all time is Blade Runner with Rutger Hauer and Harrison Ford. It was on of the greatest portrayals of the "dark future" world and incorporated themes from the greatest sci-fi tale ever told "Frankenstein". The film had tons of symbolism in it, it’s worth watching for that reason along.
Go out and rent Blade Runner, you'll be glad you did.

Other good sci-fi films include Dune, the original Star Wars trilogy, and Twelve Monkeys, damn Bruce Willis kicks ass.

I think that Terminator 2 is the best of the three
The Matrix Reloaded should be loaded into a canister (along with the latest star wars bombs) and shot into the sun.
The X-men films were great, and the Hulk was ok.
The Fifth Element, Bruce Willis, both were great.
