    I wonder how long it will be before someone weaponises these fungi and put the spores in a spray-can.

    Real zombies could roam the streets of Mogadishu and other lawless places if governments decided to cause them to self-destruct..

    True, I first heard about it a few years ago, and remember the film. They've just discovered more varieties of this insidious fungus as far as I can tell. It's pretty damn gross anyway, but interesting how a mere fungus can program an animal to do its bidding. It must have been a peculiar feat of evolution.

    It is thought (and confirmed by statistical evidence) that some forms of parasite affect human personality, and that a certain parasite that affects cats (Toxoplasma gondii) has changed entire cultures.
