ElectricFetus 09-07-04, 03:40 PM I've been spending the last few days with far cry, its not to bad at all, the graphics are great, the plot is good, buts the physics are a little weak though and the mouse does not move to well.
rGEMINI 09-07-04, 04:18 PM LOL it's sad i havn't played a video game for like 1 month >< but wc3 tft here ^^^ love that game
Dreamwalker 09-07-04, 04:22 PM Yesterday I have begun playing Morrowind again, but except that, I have not played much in the past months. Only a bit NFS and UT2004...
I've been shooting up with pure Warcraft III TFT for the past 6 months. Unnngh, it's like a constant orgasm of paper rock sissors in my brain!!! Hook it to my veins!
If any of you fools wanna see if you can match my 1337 0rc s1kllz, I dare you, n00bl3tz.
ElectricFetus 09-07-04, 07:06 PM I'm a 1-3ps kind of guy. I tryed a some stratagy games like homeworld and ground control, I liked them but not that much. I tryed morrwin and gta3 but I found them boring after awhile.
cosmictraveler 09-07-04, 08:38 PM Battlefield 1942
Dronez
eincloud 09-07-04, 09:31 PM Warcraft 3 TFT, and just a bunch of random roms on VBA, so much fun. TFT is a good game and it really does not get old.
ElectricFetus 09-07-04, 09:38 PM Tft?
James R 09-07-04, 09:54 PM I've been playing a fair bit of Counterstrike lately. Also Doom3.
hotsexyangelprincess 09-07-04, 09:59 PM bf 1942, cs, frag, halo!!, medal of honor: frontline, and some starcraft. :m:
ElectricFetus 09-07-04, 10:14 PM people still play Counterstrike?

Rock on!!! Playing it with heavy rock in background is very cool too!! you sound proficent at it......
rgemini...um...dude a whole month?!? woah ! I don't think I have ever gone a WHOLE month without video games.....kinda heavy.....
Actually, Warcraft is a completely immersive experience for me.
I could do Starcraft with music on (Marylin Manson for the BGH games, Led Zeppelin for LotR use map settings games), it became sort of a requirement. Plug in, turn on, drop out.
But with Warcraft, I have to eat a balanced meal, urinate and defecate, possibly do some minor physical exercise so as to warm up/work out my nervousness.
Then when I play I have to have ZERO distraction. I become the blademaster. When I lose my Keeper, it's like a piece of me has died. When my teammate acts like a complete ass, it's a personal affront. If teammates lag or drop, it's a curse from the Gods.
I think I'm constructing my religion around it.
Church of the Latter Day Horde.

i am afraid that i have to inform you that i would annialate you completely in that game. my night elves are excesssivly 1337er than your shitty orks.

that made me laugh!! My bro is as hardcore about gaming as you are.
booom -> http://scorched3d.sourceforge.net/index.php, stuff a Death Head up your ass.
Morrowind, best single player RPG, did you try the scroll you get from the dude that falls from the sky in the beginning :)
Dreamwalker 09-08-04, 11:05 AM Yep, I did... and it got me right into the face of a mountain. :D
But actually I would say Gothic (or Gothic II) is a better single player RPG, the NPCs are not so static, they walk around, smoking drugs, getting drunk or laid and once upon a while you might stumble over In Extremo playing in a tavern. Much better atmosphere than Morrowind. (Did I mention that you can fuck with prostitutes in Gothic and/or take drugs?)
James R 09-08-04, 07:53 PM people still play Counterstrike?
I play it on a local network. It's just one of those games everybody has.
Logically Unsound, you think you got game?
My handle's UsualHero. I'm always up for 1v1 action, ho.
vslayer 09-09-04, 04:29 AM had 3 high spec comps on the network last week so i got some friends and had a LANathon, spent about 10 hrs a day plafin games:
far cry
doom3
killswitch
counterstrike
battlefeild Vietnam
UT 2004
i got stuck an far cry a few months ago and hove spend the last few days playin BF1942 coz i finally got the desert combat mod
Dreamwalker 09-09-04, 04:24 PM I yesterday I aquired "Roller Coaster Tycoon" again. Damn, I have forgotten how much fun it is, been playing it for hours now. :D
Idle Mind 09-09-04, 05:24 PM You play Far Cry online vslayer or Fetus? I really enjoy the game, and have been playing online quite a bit recently. However, I don't know how much time I will be playing since school is back in session.
My name is IdleMind online there as well.
ElectricFetus 09-09-04, 05:45 PM Idle Mind,
Fry cry seems to come with this Xfire IM for gramers things, you know anything about it or how to us it?
Sure I have tried the online out just a little I got the game about 5days ago, I like it so far. I have always played a little Urban Terror ever since version 2.6. Realistic Combat Simulators are always fun in my book.
I still fuck around on quake 3,although thats probably cos my 8mb rage pro powered laptop cant do much else.
Other than that i play x-box.
I used to play loads of video games on pc,but its always been FPS on pc's and its just too expensive these days with no real change in gameplay,i mean doom 3,to play that properly looking at the specs you really gotta have a mammoth pc,well in the graphics area mainly.
Im waiting for pci express and standardization of laptops,so they can be upgraded, you will have that very soon.
Itd be better then for people like me that just cant stand desktops anymore.
I'm currently playing
Deus Ex (for the 15th time :p)
Painkiller (really great fresh-new old school shooter, reminds me of Doom2)
screenshot1 (http://www.painkillergame.com/images/screenshots/fullsized/Chaos_Catedral11.jpg)
screenshot2 (http://www.painkillergame.com/images/screenshots/fullsized/Cemetery13.jpg)
Baldur's Gate 2 now and then
just finished Warcraft 3 (I like starcraft better, high fantasy setting bores me)
trying to get Morrowind working. ATi drivers for Linux suck
If you want to play games on Linux my advice is to get a nVidia card.
In some games (Morrowind for example) the framerate is terrible.
I have ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb
Linux Mandrake 10
kernel: 2.6.3-16
512 DDR 266mhz
P4 1.8ghz
Dreamwalker 09-10-04, 04:01 AM Yes, I had Linux running now and then, but I sometimes got problems with my Radeon 9700...So I am back on Windows.
Baldurs Gate II (preferably with Expansion) is cool, one of my favorite games. Played it through about 50 times I think; at least 20 times with my sorcerer, he got really nice stats by now. :D
spuriousmonkey 09-10-04, 04:04 AM that is not the 3D one is it? I hate that one. I like the old isometric baldurs gates much more. It is a shame I don't have them anymore. I really enjoyed them.
Dreamwalker 09-10-04, 04:29 AM Nah, only isometric. The 3d one is either the Baldurs Gate for the PS2 (or was it PS1?) or Neverwinter Nights for PC.
spuriousmonkey 09-10-04, 05:04 AM yep...now I remember; Neverwinter nights. I tried to play it for a few hours and then uninstalled it. I was very disappointed after the BG2 experience.
Dreamwalker 09-10-04, 05:25 AM That is true, Neverwinter does not compare to the BG series, but I found it quite entertaining when I played it with people over LAN. Also, I liked the map editor, quite a cool toy, and easy to use.
But Baldurs Gate is one of the best games ever in my opinion.
Idle Mind 09-10-04, 03:01 PM XFire is lame...it is designed to be an IM for people who play all games, so you can build up contacts. I don't use it though.
You mentioned a beef about the physics in the game. What did you mean specifically?
ElectricFetus 09-10-04, 03:22 PM Idle Mind,
Guns and dropped items that float on water or air, bodies that hang rigid rather then lay down dead, clipping errors, ect.
Closet Philosopher 09-10-04, 03:25 PM I love Starcraft Brood War online. WHen I dislocated my knee (a few months ago), I bought the game SpellForce to kill some time. It's a pretty good game. Now that I'm working and going to school, I hardly play any video games anymore.
I like video games but I'm REALLY crappy at them. I improve a little while I'm playing but after some time I stop improving and can't get better at it no matter how much I try. I get frustrated as hell and stop playing. It's come to the point where I get so intimidated by new popular games that I feel the need to play the easiest level and use cheat codes. Even by cheating though, I still find it fun.
Dreamwalker 09-10-04, 04:33 PM I think the longer I play, the more my skills decrease. As I stated above, I absolutely hate counterstrike. It bores me to death, I havenīt played it for about two years. Recently I was on a LAN and everybody wanted to play it (all of them are playing on the internet many hours a day...). So I thought, ok I will lose anyway, but strangely I was better than ever before. I was surprised, and it was the same with Warcraft, I only played that game for a week when it was new and never touched it again, still I managed to be faster than those who train in it... I like that :D
Idle Mind 09-10-04, 04:48 PM Yeah, I suppose you do have a bit of a point WellCooked. It doesn't bother me at all, but to each his own. I still think it's one of the best games visually so far, which is incredible since Crytek programmed the engine from scratch, and it's their first attempt at a game.
ElectricFetus 09-10-04, 05:56 PM Really I thought Ubisoft has plenty of experience from splinter cell, ect?
Repo Man 09-10-04, 06:00 PM I'm addicted to IL2 Forgotten Battles, a WW-2 era combat flight simulator. It is the only game I play. But I do play it quite a bit.
Idle Mind 09-10-04, 06:59 PM Ubisoft is the publisher, Crytek is the programmer.
vslayer 09-11-04, 04:24 AM You play Far Cry online vslayer or Fetus? I really enjoy the game, and have been playing online quite a bit recently. However, I don't know how much time I will be playing since school is back in session.
My name is IdleMind online there as well.
never tried to play online, i only have a 56k so you cant blame me tho, if you do see me online my name will be "slayer" (i sometimes use V or E if there are more than one called slayer)
Communist Hamster 09-11-04, 06:40 AM Currently playing
PC
Bf1942 (have secret weapons, road to rome, mod collection 1.43, galactic conquest, desert combat, and homefront mods) And i NEED more RAM! Only have 256 DDR
PS2
Hitman contracts (stuck on 'deadly cargo')
Idle Mind 09-12-04, 12:48 PM never tried to play online, i only have a 56k so you cant blame me tho, if you do see me online my name will be "slayer" (i sometimes use V or E if there are more than one called slayer)
Fair enough. I don't think the online experience would too great if you were connected with a 56K modem anyway.
I was just wondering because it would be neat to have some people from around here to play with (or against).
Logically Unsound 09-12-04, 01:00 PM i used to have 56k. you can usually get a pretty good connection in RTCW, and the community is still pretty large, even though it is aging. and of course, most rts's work fine on 56k.
Depends what kinda 56k,if its a 56k internal software modem, they suck badly and slow your computer down, plus depends on ISP,some disconnect too frequently.
I use dialup,i tried broadband for awhile and got rid of it cos i can cope with 56k,i dont download tonnes of shit or play games online so all that extra money i were spending each month for broadband was being wasted basically.
I have played a few games online with dialup,if you get the ping at 100 or below its useally ok,but i didnt last long, like on quake 3 i went in to a few games and exploded immediatly,i got about 20 rockets in the face, you stick around these games a bit but youre often playing against people who play that shit 24/7 and have done for the last 5 years.
Idle Mind 09-12-04, 01:17 PM LU, you're correct, for the most part RTS games are fine on a 56K, as are numerous others. My message to slayer was about Far Cry specifically, which is one of the most demanding games (it uses a ton of resources -- recommended P4 2.6 or equivalent, 1024 MB RAM and 128 MB vid card for optimal performance). Even my broadband connection has some issues if I am playing in a server that is out run in the Eastern parts of North America or the UK.
Logically Unsound 09-12-04, 03:05 PM far cry- ouch ona 56k.. i have troble sometimes on broadband...
I'm stuck on Sacred (an original German game by Ascaron) with my friends at the moment. It's like Diablo, but you can ride horses. Yeeha! Played Warcraft III until the novelty wore off (actually, my friends wouldn't play against me anymore ;)).
I wish Morrowind were multiplayer...
Dreamwalker 09-14-04, 09:43 AM Sacred was fun, but I never managed to play it through, I got bored to the end. But I liked the fighting system, the fact that you could chain special moves together and the fact that you could ride horses. Also, it was full of jokes, I liked the mini quest on the island of Mallorca where you got sunglasses model A.Schwarzenegger. :D
I was walking past the computer on my way somewhere when suddenly it shouted, "Hey!". The timing was perfect. I had another good laugh when a Battle Mage said, after a long silence, "Hello, Mr Anderson..."
But I must admit, if it wasn't that I was playing with two friends I would have been bored of it a long time ago. The travelling and going on quests together, trying to survive the night in small towns in the middle of nowhere... that's fun.
Halo. its the only game I play, and its all you should play too.
ElectricFetus 10-04-04, 07:09 AM Halo. its the only game I play, and its all you should play too.
monopolosoft commands me!
