And I'm happy to see it!

I've gotten in some arguments with some of you in the past. But when Sciforums was down, I discovered that I missed most of you and the old arguments.

    So welcome back!

Yay! I'm glad to see that SF is back up, too.

Welcome back from the grave Sci Forums! You were sorely missed. Thank you to all who worked to make this happen.

I must admit that I also missed some of you when the site was down.

    Even you, Magical Realist!

It was very strange... another forum I sometimes attend went dark, and then our own server was down for almost two days....
I was beginning to wonder whether it was signs and portents of that fatal day when the whole web collapses.

I've seen a few of these over the years, but for some reason, I had a feeling this was the big one....

    Glad I'm not psychic!

Very happy to see Sci back up and running - where else would I lurk?

I'm just glad everyone made it through.

The time off was unbelievably stupid, but if you ever wonder why I think bawling about "cancel culture" is dumb, think about the idea that the only reason I wouldn't post a summary of my ten days with Covid, it's because people out there are dumb enough that it would be dangerous for me to actually post those notes. I'm not nearly as worried about disapprobation for saying something impolite as much as some dumb bastard getting himself killed because he's not me.

Y'know, there's a line an an old song, about a velvet painting Jesus, Elvis, and John Wayne walking together toward eternity, but somewhere between dumb bastards and the period being incredibly stupid there are also the the adventures of Donald, Elon, and Ye, and the velvet painting would be called Three Flavors of Psychiatric Disruption.

I'm glad all made it through also

I spent some of the moments I would have spent on SciForum on YouTube and collected a few snippets to post on SciForum, most of which I have used

I missed this event, but I'm glad the forum is still around. Is Sciforums the best social media ever? Everywhere else is a cesspit of belligerant violent posturing and stupid memes. It's all about the moderation, and that ain't happening on Twitter.
