Are Jedi vegetarians?

Plazma Inferno!

I was always wandering about nutrition of Jedi Knights. What keeps Force inside of them alive and strong? Meat or vegetables? Or both?

Meat is logical option, because of high-energy value. Meat is important to keep Jedi vital and prepared for hard tasks throughout galaxy.

Otherwise, perfect balance of midi-chlorian count in their blood could be perturbed with proteins and fat from meat. And midi-chlorians are, as we know, responsible for Force strength within each Jedi.
Not to mention bad cholesterol and digestive problems, that Jedi could face by meat consuming.
Just imagine gastritis attack after somersault during the battle. Also, what’s sake of lightsaber, if Jedi cannot activate it with his sclerotic fingers?

So, I’m somewhat closer to the conviction that Jedi prefer vegetables, both raw and cooked.

What do you think my dear SF friends?

Are Jedi enjoying in nibble of Endor’s roots slightly cooked in melted Hoth snow or in a greedy gnaw of juicy kebab made of one of Jar Jar Binks relatives?

And of course…

May Food be with you… Always!

I would say that their survival training would expect them to eat whatever they could considering the situation.

Do Jedi work out?
If they do, they would probably need meat as a source of protein.

Nothing in their doctrine would seem to indicate any dogmatic view of vegetarianism.

As I recall in the movie the heroes have been to the sewage...and the sewage did not have much of organic substance...so I am guessing Jedi eat some sort of conserved food.

Hate to tell you... but there's no such thing as Jedi's.

It's fiction guy....

If the force is so powerful, wouldn't they be able to eat feces or dirt and just "transmute" the molecules into nutrients ?

Maybe only your Yoda types can do that...

Didn't look like there was too much that was edible - or at least appetizing - on "Planet Swamp-Gas" where he lived.

;)

Actually a typical swamp has tons of native species of both plant and animal that are both tasty and nutritious, provided you know what to avoid.

Jedi's are emphatically omnivorous as Yoda, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Luke have all shown in both book and movie. In fact it seems the only vegetarians in Star Wars are along species lines.

Huh... Thanks!

Probably depends on the species. Many races are force-sensitive, and some are uniformly so.

although...the jedi santa does look like one cool guy! hahaa!
