Wegs, my esteem for you keeps growing. We may have slightly different world views, but your objectivity is admirable.
Well, probably more subjective now. If I had to label myself at this point, I'd lean at atheist agnostic. I don't know if I could ever confidently say ..."God doesn't exist." Because I don't know. But I can't say "He exists," anymore either. I think what I like about agnosticism is it elicits a rather beautiful simplicity and that is..."I don't know what I don't know."
And that is truth, to me.
Thank you for your words; I've often enjoyed reading your replies for they always are delivered with class.
@ Mazulu: I know you have felt judged and such by those who don't follow your beliefs. But atheists ...at least those i personally know and those on this site, are quite thoughtful and generous. There are many religious ppl in the world who can be quite cold and callous. Believing in God doesn't automatically render one holy and loving. Atheism doesn't automatically elicit a lack of kindness. Every person on any given day, atheist or not, can be a loving or hateful soul. Religion or lack thereof honestly has nothing to do with it.
It's a choice to be a decent person. Religion takes way too much credit for people just doing the plain ole right thing.
But, I respect your spirituality. I "get it." Just try to see atheists as not your enemy. They really aren't.
