I'm looking for info on certain religions as research for a novel I plan to write. The world is a earth, with multiple pantheons involved. The problem is this: It seems sound that a true god would forbid thier people from making idols, as this leads to worshiping the idol rather than the god, and then worldly things, and so on until they apostate. Having already decided upon two pantheons-Christianity and Islam-I seek at least one more, possibly two or three more that fit the requirements, but am having trouble finding them, and I seek any end-of-the-world/doomsday type prophesy stuff in them. Can anyone here help?
