the poll is loaded, there is'nt a god, and we've still invented religion, now however man is being educated all over the world, once man realises that hes been following his imagination for centuries, there will be no religion no more.

If we assume there is no intelligent creator, that would not prevent people from making religions anyway.

Likewise, if an intelligent creator exists, there would be religions. Not because God revealed himself though. God has 'revealed' himself to many people on Earth today, even visisted Earth as some guy called Jesus (if you're stupid enough to believe that), yet everyones 'revelation' is so different that nobody can describe the same God or the same motives. Which leaves religion open to the fact that man has created their own Gods and nothing more.

Let's hear ot for all the dead and forgotten gods. As we evolved, gained more knowledge and became more civilized, some gods just didn't measure up. It was time to create gods that suited the situation. How long will today's gods last is anybody's guess.

ofcourse there would be religions creted in the world if there wasen't a god there is proff just look at how many religions there are now.

I agree with psychotic. Many (immortal?) gods have already perished throughout humans short existence on this planet. We create supernatural deities to explain what we currently cannot, and when science does provide an explanation, the god just sort of fades out...

Ok so we are all in agreement that if there was not a God/Religion we would have made it up anyway.

With this in mind what is the probability that something that was going to be made up anyway happened to be true? What view does a follower of God have on this? Why is something we would have created anyway, true? Doesn't it made sense to say we know it was made up to a certain degree, therefore it is much more likey that it was all made up?
