My wife aged 31 yrs has been diagnosed with Diffuse Parenchymal Lung Disease/ Acute Interstitial Pneumonia. She was put on steroids and within a period of 3 weeks her HRCT of Thorax showed no abnormality.
She started with dry persistent cough in the middle of Oct'07 which did not subside with ayurvedic medicines and antibiotics. Even within 10 days of developing this cough she had breathing difficulty. She was admitted in hospital after 1 month of development of cough and treated with intravenous steroid and antibiotics. Within 1 week her chest X-ray showed clearance. She was discharged after 1 week. Her HRCT of Thorax showed significant improvement within 1 week of discharge. Within 3 weeks her HRCT showed no active abnormality. She is still taking Omnacortil.
If anyone has got any idea about ayurvedic medicines for this disease kindly inform me.

Dear M.R. Ramnath,

My wife (age 52) had Pulmonary Interstitial Fibrosis problem for last one year.

Earlier she had lot of dry cough.

Now we use antibiotic Asthalin using nebuliser.

Now dry cough is virtually stopped.

Ayurvedic medicines did not help much for this.

However she has improved her health alot by doing Yogasanas and Pranayam

I can give you list of Yogasanas which are helpful to the lungs.

Yogasanas and Pranayam are good since it does not involve any medicine.
