Doubting Tomas displays the John symbol probably as Leonardo was saying that the reason he was doubting was that he was a yovanite, a John follower or worshiper. A heart shape encircles Jesus and his wife Mary Magdalene. Peter beheads her with his hand as he intends to replace her as the next leader of the Jesus followers. There is an M for Mary or marriage, a V shape which sybolised femanine and the chalice which is otherwise missing from the photo in the image of a great cup. Mary is the chalice.
