Prion diseases

Does anyone know what progress is being made in finding treatments for prion diseases like mad cow disease and vCJD? Or if any steps are being made in that direction? I've heard of some work at UCL regarding prions. I'd really like to be able to eat beef again.
 
buy australian beef, we are apsolutly free of mad cow disease and have never had ANY cases of it
 
because its to expencive, actually i only eat really cheep cuts of beef, pork and chicken because lamb (my favorite meat), kangroo (number 2) and the decent cuts of beef are priced WAY out of my price range

i cant aford to pay $18kg let alone the $30Kg it costs for lamb
