Problem with thread?

Hi,

I just tried to post something in the following thread:

http://www.sciforums.com/threads/is-science-a-religion.162719/

The post does not seem to have appeared. The thread itself seems to have a problem. If you go to page 3 of the general philosophy section and look at the list of threads there, the one I'm trying to post in is right at the top.

Very strangely, and unlike all the other threads, it says . . .

Is this a glitch? Is the thread locked? Help!!

P.S. Is there any way to list the threads in a particular forum in chronological order (i.e. starting from most recently added to)?

Is there a way to view the most recent posts on the site as a whole (regardless of category)?

Thanks!

P.P.S.

I know how to edit a post, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove a post entirely (even just a few minutes after posting when the edit option is still available).

Is there a user's guide for dummies lol?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re OP

I think I see the problem. The same thread ("Is Science a Religion?") exists in two different locations!

You'll find it both in General Philosophy (top of page 3) and the Religion section (4th top, page 1)

I posted in General Philosophy. For some reason my post has appeared in the Religion section.

What goes on, bro?

It apeears there is only one thread - the one in the Philosophy forum seems to actually redirect to the one in the Religion forum.

I've never seen that before.

Some sneaky mod is performing some secret ju-jube magic they've been heretofore keeping under their pointy hat.

Yes. The 'Forums' link in Main menu. Clicking on any suforum will open it with latest at top.

Yes. 'New Posts' in Main Menu.

There is no delete function. Convention is to edit the offending post to say "DUPE" or some such.
If your OCD is still triggered, you can Report the post and a moderator might be so kin das to delete it for you.

Is there a user's guide for dummies
No. You're doing fine asking here.

Re above.

Thank you kindly, Dave.

Times like these I wish I had the intelligence of an octopus (see thread in Biology).

I've never seen that before.

This point got overlooked because a separate issue had our attention at the time. Actually, it's not so much that you've never seen it; you apparently haven't noticed it, and in its way, that's not surprising: When moderators move threads, there is an option to leave a redirect notice. Since the most part of the threads we move are of a sort that matter more to the starter than anyone else, it's easy for others to miss the notices, especially as we generally set them to disappear, usually after a few days.
