But anyway, I wouldn't mind my own private, local wiki - ie, hard-disk based, accessible only to me. It seems a very useful way of storing info. Perhaps Plazma can read this in about 2 months time and tell me whether this is feasible - by which time I'll have gone off the idea.

i don't think anyone is really interested in what you think sciwiki should be. The community is currently deciding what the encyclopedia should be like. Obviously in the light of your acts of vandalism of the [ENC]athelwulf [/ENC]page you don't like the way it is going.
Calling athelwulf's revisions acts of vandalism is absurd considering the article is about athelwulf. Especially considering the article history in which athelwulf is clearly revising content produced in his article by vandals.

Moderators are needed to 'kill' vandals and those who input inappropriate material about the forum members and inappropriate content in general.

I like this serious-casual mixture of Wiki, but as long as it's reasonable and temperate.

So, we need slight moderation there and I think that we already have moderators on Wiki.
Those are all SciForums members.

They just have to become more active.

Yep, sounds good. I think for the real hot topics we need to remain as serious as possible, however, if the information is to be taken as being as true as possible. Otherwise there won't be a lot of respect for the articles that aren't just people making wikis about themselves.
